| WSU Timeline Mural - Opens September 17 Phelps Hall, First Floor Available for viewing anytime campus is open.
Over a year in the making, the WSU Timeline mural commemorates 150 years of history. Using images from the scrapbook, we capture important events and trends of WSU's four identities: the Winona State Normal School, Winona State Teachers College, Winona State College and the current Winona State University. | 
| Winona County Historical Society Voices from the Past: Woodlawn Cemetery Discovery Walk Saturday, October 11 and 12 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm This year's walk features people associated with Winona State University in honor of its Sesquicentennial. Among those represented are: William Phelps, principal of Winona Normal School and educational innovator; Dr. John Ford, local physician instrumental in obtaining the legislation and inintial funding for the Normal School; Effie L. Bean, Normal School graduate and principal of W-K elementary school; Nels Minne, President of Winona State College during growth stages. This final concert of the season will commemorate the Winona Symphony Orchestra's centennial and the Winona State University's sesquicentennial. The concert is a recreation of the first WSO concert originally directed by Carl Ruggles on April 29, 1908. The premier work by Libby Larson is being composed specifically for this event.
