Volunteer Opportunities

Alumni College

Through out the academic year, the office of Alumni Relations brings alumni back to campus to speak to students about their chosen careers.  The program gives currents students a chance to learn from the experience of WSU alumni, and gives alumni an opportunity to share the knowledge that they have gained since graduating from WSU.

Alumni Mentoring

In partnership with the Career Services office, an alumni mentoring program has been established.  Each semester, current students are matched with alumni that have excelled in the field in which the student is interested.  Benefits are obvious to the students, as they have a chance to learn from experienced professionals.  The alumni who participate, among other things, feel a great sense of satisfaction and are able to access some of the most talented WSU graduates.

Move in Day

One of the most fun events sponsored by the Alumni Society each year is New Student Move in Day.  When classes start in the fall, alumni volunteers are there to help the new students get settled into the residence halls.  The Alumni Society sets up tents at each of the residence halls and provides water and snacks for students and their parents.  If you would like to have a lot of fun, and welcome new students to Winona State, please send an email to alumni@winona.edu.

Homecoming Weekend

Every fall, the office of Alumni Relations hosts Homecoming Weekend.  This special event seems to grow every year, and is now a four day weekend packed full of fun activities.  It takes a lot of support from alumni to make the weekend happen.  If you are interested in helping with the Homecoming celebration, send an email to alumni@winona.edu.

Alumni Networks

As more and more students graduate from WSU, the alumni population continues to grow!  There are WSU alumni all over the United States and the rest of the world.  In areas with large groups of alumni, networks are being established so that the alumni can take advantage of their connections through the university.
